The HKAC supports the teaching about the United States in the universities of Hong Kong, China, and East Asia generally. This usually entails comparative and inter-disciplinary programs of study, teaching and research. The Center has an extensive collection of American material in the CUHK library. One special feature is a research collection on William Faulkner with materials unrivaled anywhere outside of the United States. The Center gives particular emphasis to enabling Asian teachers to use web - based materials in teaching about the U.S. Another area of importance is the legacy of Chinese - Americans whose roots originated in south China. We value the ongoing economic and social ties that link the U.S. and the HK/PRD region through family and social history.
