Opened in 1998 the American Studies Center at the University of Bahrain offers a diploma and a minor in American Studies, in addition to fostering an increasing awareness of various aspects of American culture and society. The center has a close working relationship with the U.S. Embassy in Bahrain, which has supplied reference materials and funding for an American Studies library at the center. The American Studies diploma is designed as a foundation qualification that can be converted to a BA in American Studies at U.S. universities. The minor is a interdisciplinary course utilizing expertise from scholars throughout the university and visiting Fulbright scholars.

The American Studies Department at Hebrew University was created in 1965, and was the first academic unit in Israel to offer interdisciplinary American Studies, comprising history, spiritual and literary culture, and constitutional heritage. Today, the department is the only one to offer postgraduate American Studies alongside an undergraduate program. The goals of the program are to provide the student with a basic knowledge in American history, culture, government and literature which can be expanded into postgraduate study.

The mission of the American Studies Institute at Al-Quds University is to promote
better understanding between the Palestinian people and the people of the United
States of America. A wide variety of approaches to understand American culture,
politics, and society are explored and a large number of different disciplines
are involved. The graduate program is an interdisciplinary program offering
comprehensive study in American institutions and culture. The basic program
consists of courses in American History, American Politics, American Literature,
American Experience Through Film, American Culture, scientific research methods
and other areas as approved by faculty.
