American Studies at Mount Allison is an interdisciplinary program. The BA encourages students to take courses in English, History, Geography, Philosophy, Political Science, Fine Arts, Religious Studies, and Economics. The program enables the student to gain a panoramic view of America as a nation and as a civilization, its place in history, and its impact on the world.

Established in 1984, the aim of the Centre is to promote scholarly activities including research, teaching and study concerning the United States. The centres focus is primarily on the twentieth-century. Faculty are drawn from the Departments of Anthropology, Business, Economics, Geography, History, Information and Media Studies, Political Science, and Sociology. Each year the Centre organizes a series of speakers, seminars and panels.
