If you are not already an ASA member, and would like details about the
benefits of becoming part of this vibrant forward-looking community, read

Individual ASA members help to insure the continuity, development, and
enhanced usefulness of a dynamic, professional, scholarly organization, now
approaching 6,000 members (and growing), dedicated to broadening and
intensifying the study of American culture, history, and society. They help
to promote interdisciplinary activity and programs, working toward the
lowering of rigid barriers of approach and technique, and the cooperation of
scholars in various disciplines in a vital, international field of study.
Individual ASA members also help to stimulate intellectual and professional
activity among their own faculty.
