Membership in the ASA

Current ASA members can now go to their membership account at the following website (http://asa.press.jhu.edu/cgi-bin/my-membership.cgi ) to determine their membership status and to print a receipt for their records (pdf or html versions). Expired members will see a message that says "You are not a current ASA member". Simply click the blue online link and you can quickly renew your ASA membership.

If you have already created a username and password at the Johns Hopkins University Press website (to access American Quarterly online), simply login into your account using them. Once you access your account you can also click a button to renew your ASA membership for the next time period. This link takes you to the online order form already pre-populated with the information on file for you (you can edit the info as needed).

If you have never created a username and password at the JHUP site, you can do so by entering your member account number in both the login and password fields, then click GO. You will then be asked to create a unique username and password for future access.

This will also provide you with electronic access to AQ through Project MUSE ® and online access to the Encyclopedia of American Studies (http://eas-ref.press.jhu.edu).

The Journals Publishing Division of the Johns Hopkins University Press is responsible for membership and subscription fulfillment. If you have any questions or problems please contact JHUP Customer Service directly at toll free (US and Canada only) at 800-548-1784 or email jrnlcirc@press.jhu.edu.

The ASA web site (www.theasa.net) is on a different platform/server than the JHU Press web site for dues payments, American Quarterly, and the Encyclopedia of American Studies Online, or the 2010 annual meeting proposal submission website. They require separate web site registrations. Many of you have a login and password for the JHUP site and are trying to use those at the ASA site or the proposal submission site. To do so, you must create the same login/password at all three sites.
